We're trying to find and have fitted a new front door, that isn't a composite one. We live on an estate where the front doors are a particular colour and have two glazed panels with a lead light design. We can't seem to find the best way of choosing a front door - everyone says composite (ugly) but we want a quality timber front door with glazed panels that offers insulation and security. All we've been told is 'go to Wickes' but do we need to have new frames too, or can we buy an off the shelf front door without the glazed panels? Does a carpenter paint the door too, or do we have to get someone else to do that? I've done a fair amount of research but am really not sure how to get the job done ready for the winter. We'd appreciate any help - thank you.

Not sure if this is really carpentry or maybe a handy man job. We are just redecorating our home office which is 2.6 m x 1.8 m with ceiling height of 2.3m We want to put up wall mounted shelves which maximise the space available for storage; space needed for desks means that floor shelving is not practical. We are thinking of buying IKEA shelves and have someone else put them up for us, or happy to take advice on best way to shelve the room. Not looking for bespoke.
