  • Location: Stoke On Trent
  • Hired: PROPERTY DESIGN SOLUTIONS
  • Trade: Restoration & Refurbishment
Job Description

Hello,

I have an original 1950s/1960s kitchen that is in need of decorating, I am keeping the orginal cupboards. I would like for all the walls and ceiling to be plastered (part of these are Artexed). All walls, cupboards and woodwork to be painted. Walls to be partially tiled. The old worksurface removed and a new one fitted around the current ceramic sink. Finally, a laminate floor to be fitted.

The kitchen is approximately 3.8 x 3.2 m.

Thank you,

Log Burner Fitting / Chimney Preparation. Inc Flue

  • Location: Stoke On Trent
  • Hired: paterson heating and plumbing services
  • Trade: Chimneys & Fireplaces
Job Description

Fitting a Log Burner in a late 1800s house. Will be in the kitchen chimney, and will require a flue fitting.

We already have a log burner, from an old house which is cast iron and high quality, so we would like that fitting.

Depending on the price of fitting, we would also like to have the chimney knocked through and prepared for the flue and logburner, however it may have to be DIY if the price of fitting is quite high.

Roof access is simple, with a second floor roof in good condition.

I imagine we will also probably need an extra flue going from the log burner to the chimney flue as well if the lintel is quite high, as is often the case with these older houses.

Quote please to include labour and materials!

mortaring and brick replacement in back external wall

  • Location: Congleton
  • Hired: daniel sumner
  • Trade: Bricklaying
Job Description

We have recently bought a house in Congleton where some cracking (not subsidence as this has been checked out by experts) needs to be remortared. There are about 4 bricks which have also fractured and we want them replaced if possible. It is mostly a cosmetic job but we do want to avoid damp ingress. Apparently cracks have been there for a few years and are a result of other building work done to the house in the past. We want someone who can do this efficiently so there is little evidence of the repair. For our part we are flexible on time and the job can be fitted in at short notice.
Advice would be appreciated. There may be future work as we are also considering modifying the kitchen/taking in part of the dining room.
