Fireplace installation
- Location: Tonbridge
- Hired: Heatsafe installations ltd
- Trade: Chimneys & Fireplaces
- Positive feedback on 17th Jun 13
Job Description
We need to get our fireplace fitted. We already have a hearth (that needs putting in) and the fire place. It will be for solid fuel. I believe that we would need to get some mortar for underneath the basket and ceramic beads for packing behind. The room is carpetted, and there is a constructional hearth in situ. Some plaster work will need to be done once the fireplace is set and bolted in place.

Job Description
Hello
We now have funds available for building work on our home. It's a 2 bedroom terrace and we want all works done at the same time, they are multi trade. Our house is 100 years old & the living room & dining room is knocked through..the kitchen is a flat roof extension going out to the back yard wall. There is a small square 1mx1m landing then straight head a front bedroom then a second bedroom at the rear. Access to the bathroom is gained by walking through the 2nd bedroom. I will list the work we require..
A boiler moving from the 2nd bedroom to the kitchen below & the flue will need to come up & out the flat roof as the back of the wall is an alley way
Radiator in 2nd bedroom moving to a different wall
Radiator in front bedroom moving to a different wall
Radiator in bathroom moving to a different wall
(There is easy access to under floorboards)
Plumbing pipes from old immersion in 2nd bedroom to bathroom need dropping under the floorboards as currently boxed in above the floor (or removed completely if this is possible?)
Old immersion cupboard knocking down & plastering to make good (tank already removed but not pipe work)
Bathroom suite changed and the layout changed. (approx 6ft x 6ft)
New door entrance to access bathroom cut out
Old bathroom entrance bricked up & a storage cupboard made out of the cubby ( approx 3ft x 3ft)
Partition wall building to separate the 2nd bedroom therefore creating a 'landing'.(approx 11 1/2 ft)
A non supporting stud wall removing to create the landing area nod a bannister with spindles installing (approx 8 1/2 feet)
The loft hatch which is currently in the bathroom extension ceiling will need moving
We want a structural engineers report on the stud wall removal but also some advice on a Chimney breast removal that was done by the previous owner which was not included in our buyers survey as we got basic.
We are not time wasters, we have money and we want the work starting in the next couple of weeks. Please only reply if you are serious and in a position to take on the work.

Rendering outside of small office
- Location: Dartford
- Hired: Findon Building Company
- Trade: Restoration & Refurbishment
- Positive feedback on 17th Jun 13
Job Description
I have a car workshop which has a small office extension. The old render on the outside office walls needs to be chipped off and new rendering applied.
There are some loose breeze blocks above a doorway which need to be secured before rendering.
There is also an issue with a very small part of the damp proof course where an outside slope has been raised slightly too high and possibly needs to be cut back before the walls can be rendered. The whole rendering area is approx. 25 square metres.
I also need a small step built outside the office door, to be built with brick. I already have a large slate tile for the top surface. Step size to be 900mm x 400mm.
