Front entrance / Hallway extension - Woodley

  • Location: Reading
  • Hired: Clem Services Limited
  • Trade: Extensions
Job Description

Single storey extension to Edwardian property with connected groundwork / tiling / soakaway added.

Looking for builder who has the ability to keep the look of this extension in keeping with the rest of the house. Key materials (bricks, tiles, joinery) supplied by client.

I work on an Ministry Of Defence site so contact by phone is limited - email is best & I can phone you when available.

* Added 6th June, 2011 :
The job is by no means big and I am looking for the job to be started and finished before winter starts.

Attention to detail and good quality is expected.

* Added 6th June, 2011 :
There are certain things I would expect. Some of these are:
• Builder has recent work available for reference.
• The builder has old property extension experience.
• The reference work was performed by the same people doing my work and still working for the builder.
• The work is single storey and only covers an area of only about 6 square metres. I would need the work to be started and completed before October. Reason being it’s the front of my house & I cannot afford for the front of the property to be a muddy building site through the wetter months. If this is not possible and you are booked until that time, please don’t quote.
• My expectation is for the job to be started and seen through to conclusion with the only times that 5 day/week working is not performed is when emergencies, weather or drying/curing times occur.
• Planning permission is not needed (due to size). Full drawings and a builders brief (+ photos) are available to allow you to offer an accurate quote.

If the above is acceptable, please get in touch and we can arrange a site visit.

Thanks

/David Carter.

Log Burner Installation

  • Location: Reading
  • Hired: fire expert
  • Trade: Chimneys & Fireplaces
Job Description

We previosly had a gas fire which has now been removed. We would like a log burner (something like the Stovax Stockton 5) installed, to do this i thin the chimney will need opening out slightly. The Chimney breast is 1.4m wide. The inside walls of the opening we would like either plastered or lined with GRG board. I don't think plaster will hold up with the heat though.

We would also like a wooden beam that sticks out like a mantle piece, but we have not decided if we want it built in or one of these ones you can fix onto the wall - perhaps we can discuss this at a later date.
