Complete bathroom refurbishment

  • Location: Addlestone
  • Hired: Plumbing On Tap
  • Trade: Bathroom Fitting
Job Description

Old bathroom needs a complete refurbishment. At the moment there is a shower, seperate bath, single sink and toilet in a ground floor bathroom (in a semi detached bungalow). We would like everything replaced, keeping the units in the same position. Replacement of all the pipework. In place of the single sink we would like a double sink.

Shower - we would like a walk in tiled shower area.

Floor - we would like under floor heating installed and then tiled with a skirting board type lip at around the floor edge (I don't know what this is called sorry).

Walls - a splash back around bath and sinks, paint for the rest.

Ceiling - currently wooden cladding with spot lights down, keep the position of lights but just a painted ceiling in it's place.

Extractor fan linked to light switch with a 15 minute delay - there is currently an air brick to the outside but no fan attached.

The room is about 4.3m by 1.75m in size, a rectangular room with two windows on one of the long sides.

There is a current problem with a stud partition wall which the toilet and the current shower is connected to (the shower hot and cold water pipes run through this wall). The shower has for some time been leaking into this wall, and it needs to be taken out and replaced.

The second problem we can see is that the leaking shower may have damaged some of the floor boards in the bathroom. The flooring is raise by about 15cm in the second half of the room where the shower and toilet are (i.e. the shower and toilet are on a large step aout 15cm above the original floorboards). We would like the floor to be level throughout.

  • Location: Farnborough
  • Hired: Regency Kitchens & Bathrooms

Job Description

The bathroom is roughly 2.3m x 1.7m. This is a full refit like for like (bath, pedestal basin, toilet)although we will probably keep the existing electric shower. The existing tiling behind the bath is to be replaced and the tiling behind the toilet/pedestal basin. The remainder will be painted. The radiator in the bathroom is to be replaced with a heated towel rail and the floor area is to be tiled.
There is an area which is boxed in currently that I would like to consider opening up depending on the work involved.
