Decorating 2 bathrooms including replacing flooring
- Location: Bedford
- Hired: HandyAlex
- Trade: Bathroom Fitting
- Positive feedback on 4th May 13
Job Description
I have two small bathrooms which need some work doing before I can rent my flat out.
1. They both need walls, ceilings, skirting boards and doorframes painting (no tiling needed as does not need replacing)
2. They also need flooring replaced (bathroom A 160 x 230cm, bathroom B 190 x 160)
3. One of the bathroom needs a toilet replacing (but no other plumbing needed)
Would prefer it if you supplied the toilet. Floor tiles aren't chosen yet, so am flexible with this.
* Added 25th April, 2013 :
Existing floor is concrete with vinyl over the top.
Only problem with toilet that needs replacing is that seat is broken and I can't find a replacement that will fit properly.

Job Description
We wish to have a damaged bath replaced.
The bath is in a house in Ravensden which my sister and I inherited from our parents last year .The house has been rented out for the last 6 months to people who have been careless .We want to know how much it would cost to fit a replacement bath .We believe we can get a bath that will go with the suit for about £200 from people who sell obsolete coloured baths. So the price we like quoted would be for fitting the bath and replacing the bath panels ,at the moment the side and end of the bath are tiled but we think panels might make maintenance easier in the future.

Job Description
Room size approx 2m x 2m ensuite which requires gutting and fitting with a new shower, toilet and sink unit.
All walls:
Are currently half-tiled (except shower) - remove all tiling and replace with tiles floor to ceiling.
Shower enclosure:
The current shower leaks and has made the floor swell plus the ceiling below stain. The current enclosure is 760mm sq and needs to be replaced with an 800mm quadrant.
The current mixer unit appears to be plumbed outside of the stud wall and faired into the enclosure. A new mixer to be fitted and the plumbing to be put into the stud prior to tiling.
Electrics/Ceiling:
Currently extractor and light are on separate circuits with rocker switches in the bedroom. Single 240v light inset in ceiling (artex finish). No shaver point in room. All to be replaced with 3 - 4 lamp lighting ganged with extractor (with override switch), pendant switch in bathroom, shaver point and two shaver lights fitted to wall. Ceiling to be changed to fill current light space and artex to be skimmed smooth.
Flooring:
Current floor covering is Karndean finished in slate tile pattern, but the boards (believed to be chipboard) have swelled with the leaking shower enclosure and will need to be replaced. Would like a similar Karndean finish to new floorboards.
Sink/Toilet:
Currently fitted units with semi-recessed sink and built in toilet.
All to be removed and replaced with, new semi-recessed sink and taps repositioned 300mm to right of current location, with storage units. Toilet to be replaced with a close coupled non-built-in unit.
Cabinet to be fitted above toilet
Heating:
Current radiator to be replaced and location moved 300mm right from current location.
Door:
Change from opening into ensuite to opening out into bedroom.
All work to include removal of old and disposal

Job Description
Remove current bathroom, including tiles, bath, toilet, sink, ceiling lights, and radiator. A complete clear-out (I can help with this).
Replace with new bath, shower screen, heated towel rail, coupled toilet, cabinets, extractor fan and sink (I may have missed something here). Also, tile floor, the walls encompassing the shower, and around the sink & toilet. Install new ceiling light. Re-plaster the walls and ceiling (tacking preferred).
The room is approximately 3.5m x 2.5m in size. We have a sketch of the room with the new units if you want a better idea of what work we'd like done.
All major items will be supplied by ourselves. We'd like you to supply things like plaster, tile adhesive, and other sundries required to get the bathroom installed.
