Job Description
Hi,
Please can you quote for the following work in our stairs and landing, excluding materials. However, you can assume Dulux white eggshell paint on all woodwork and Dulux emulsion on all walls/ ceiling. Assume that you will need to apply at least 2 coats and/ or as required to create a quality, durable finish.
1) Strip wallpaper, prep and emulsion approx 20sqm wall
2) Rub back/ prep/ paint existing painted skirting up stairs (3.6 linear m)
3) Rub back/ prep/ paint existing painted decorative victorian bannister, spindles and footing (approx 4 linear m)
4) Rub back/ prep/ paint existing painted (detailed) architraves for 3 doors
5) Paint 6m of newly fitted (e.g. bare wood) skirting board
6) Paint 9.6m of newly (e.g. bare wood) decorative dado rail (approx 30mm wide)
7) Emulsion new (e.g. bare plaster) ceiling, approx 8sqm
We're aware that the walls could require making good and/ or lining paper once stripped, so if you could also send me your day rate you charge for additional work, that would be useful.
Ideally you would be able to start work early to mid June, but this is negotiable/ secondary to finding someone with the right price and/ or references of prior quality work.
Job includes as much complimentary tea and biscuits as required to get the job done! :)
Thanks very much for your interest. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Paul.

P.s Note that I have another job posted for the some minor joinery work ahead of this. Would be happy for anyone to quote for doing both at the same time:

I selected Adrian because he was very well priced and because he was a nice guy. The job was quite large for one person but Adrian said he had some chaps to help. Unfortunately they rushed through the work (crucially, the preparation/ rubbing back of old paintwork) and the end result when Adrian left was very disappointing. However, to Adrian's credit, when I pointed out the defects he came back immediately and did his best to rectify them. In the end, the result was satisfactory. Ultimately, I think I got reasonable value for money from Adrian and because he is a very nice chap I would use him again to do straightforward decoration and plastering work in my home - but I would be sure to stay closer to his work throughout the job to ensure that the quality was maintained. Thanks Adrian.
