Moving ceiling lights - Electrical job in Clapton, East London

Job Description

A carpenter is building a unit for me under a part of the ceiling where I have spot lights. He says that the lights can be pulled out their sockets and he reckons the wires behind the lights will be pretty long. He plans to dangle the lights down through the ceiling of the unit as the doors will have glass panels. I would like an electrician to check this is possible before I proceed with the carpentry work.
