Job Description
1960 built block of small one bed flats with solid walls, crittle windows and mostly electric heating. I am on top floor so also have heat loss through flat roof. I only heat one room as bills too much. We are all leaseholders (& joint freeholders) and do not qualify for a lot of grants but are probably all in fuel poverty!
I have bit of money so EITHER I can put in gas central heating OR insulate properly. I have been a greeny for years so insulation is my instinct for now. (In few years I might consider solar panels rather than gas heating)
SPEC PART 1:
I would like dry lining in living room & bedrm on the 2 walls with windows. I don;t care if I lose 4 inches from the flat, but it must have foil layer as get bad condensation too. Probably need a frame built around the windows so can install secondary glazing, preferably the sort you can take out in summer.
Living room wall is (w)3500mm x (ht) 2440mm - or 8 ft ceiling- with window 2820w x 1200h
Bedroom wall is 2570w x 2290h with window 2480w x 1185h
SPEC PART 2: If you can give me price on windows too thats great
SPEC PART 3: Price for false ceiling/interior ceiling insulation in living room and bathroom (where ceiling is higher). This must be less than 4 inches if possible.
Would like to have the work started by end March/start April if poss.
Would prefer someone doing it who really cares about energy efficiency and knows about latest eco-products, and doesn't mind doing small jobs. Besides if all goes well the other 15 flats in block might be interested!
Thank you for your consideration,
Helen

Krasimir gave me a good price to put up some huge insulation boards on my living room ceiling and on outside wall. He helped me find a cheap website to order the boards and helped his poor workmate to carry them up 3 flights of stairs to my flat! They were both very good humoured and Krasimir was straightforward to deal with. They worked quickly and had it all plastered within a few days. He also helped me buy a new skirting board and came back to fix that and a few other things. The plaster finish was good overall but strangley bumpy under the window (there may be a technical reason for this) and there were a few minor issues like some scratches on my laminate floor and plaster getting spilt all the way down the stairs to the flat - which I cleared up. But on the whole they were very clean and I think they even brought a cleaner in whilst I was away. Overall I felt I got a good price for the main job and am happy with that.
