Job Description
We would like a wooden (oak/oak effect) bookcase with a cupboard at the base built to conceal the particularly ugly electricity meter and fusebox in our dining room. Although we know a ready made cupboard would be cheaper, it does need to be made to measure as we have not been able to source a suitable ready made cupboard which is large enough to house the meter, and does not take up too much space in the room. We want the cupboard to be no deeper than is necessary to hide the meter, and for it to have shelving above the cupboard to allow us storage space for books. We want this to be a good quality finished item as it will be the first thing people see when they enter the room, but our budget would be under £800 in total. * Added 26th December, 2010 :
We have changed our brief slightly. Instead of a forward facing cupboard with bookshelves on top of it, we now want to build a corner cupboard to hide the meter and put the tv on. The rough dimensions of the cupboard would be 75cms high with a 15cm shelf on top for the Sky box, then 85cms by 85cms. As we are now not having a tall bookshelf we don't really want to pay more than £400.
