Although Chris could do the work I needed doing within a month of me hiring him and his workmanship was of good quality I am afraid to report that his professionalism was not. He took my house key when he left even though we agreed he would post it through the letter box. After I had contacted him saying he didn’t need to take the key and reminded him we had agreed for him to put it through the door he didn’t return to do the work keep putting it off until he returned 4 days later. After the work was finished he issued an invoice for well over £200+ what he quoted. He added on VAT to his labour which was not discussed and tried charging me for materials that I had provided anyway. Also he did jobs that I had said not to do because I could do myself but then used this to try and make out I had a good deal and would be for free. When I politely asked for a breakdown of his invoice after he had text me asking to add more onto his invoice He then got very passive aggressive with me over voicemail, numerous phone calls which I had to decline due to his tone and text messages sent in capital letters being quite frankly very rude. Turns out those ‘free’ jobs he charged me for. He claims he is fairly priced.. I would disagree. £300 per day plus VAT on top of this, this is extortionate. I am sorry to say that I won’t be recommending Chris or be returning to him to have work done again. Take caution.

Alex has been brilliant from start to finish. He was willing to listen to what we wanted and advised the best way forward. He is very tidy, conscious of neighbours and the existing plants in the garden. He was very trustworthy and we felt happy to let him have the house keys. He was very thorough and we would certainly recommend Alex and would have him back anytime. His brick laying is very professional and he has certainly made a great job of the wall and fencing at the bottom of the garden.

Matt took on the whole project of converting my garage to a bedroom with ensuite. He was ‘bang on’ with his quote. If there was any unexpected expense he checked with me first. He was always at the property when he said he would be. He finished the conversion in the time scale that he said. I would 100% recommend Matt who organised the whole project for me while I was away. He updated me with phone calls, messages & sent me photos of work he had completed each week. The stud work, loft insulation, floor insulation, chipboard flooring, plaster boarding, shower boarding, window hinges, sliding door & firedoors, were all professional completed by Matt. He put a lot of ‘pride’ into his work. The sub contractors that he organised to do the Brickwork, plastering & plumbing were all very good & worked well together. I’ll put some finished on here next week Thank you Matt.
